UN suspends aid distributions for 48 hours
The United Nations (UN) has suspended night-time aid distributions in the Gaza Strip for at least 48 hours due to Israel targeting aid workers.
Following the death of 7 employees of the international aid organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) in an attack carried out by Israel, the United Nations (UN) has suspended night-time aid distributions in the Gaza Strip due to Israel targeting aid workers.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, announced that the UN has suspended night-time aid operations in the Gaza Strip for at least 48 hours to assess the security situation.
Dujarric stated that the World Food Programme (WFP) continues its operations during the day to send convoys to the north of Gaza, where "people are dying," adding, "As famine approaches, we need humanitarian personnel and supplies to be able to move freely and safely throughout the Gaza Strip."
