UN: Videos of Israeli soldiers displaying Gazan women's underwear must be investigated

UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric responded to a question from an AA reporter: "As International Women's Day approaches, I would like to bring to your attention a disturbing trend that is becoming increasingly common in Gaza.

Israeli soldiers are filming bizarre videos in homes they have seized in Gaza, displaying Palestinian women's underwear and posting them on social media. They are essentially mocking the death and destruction they have caused. What is your reaction to this?"

Stating that he had watched some of these images, Dujarric said, "I think they are deeply disturbing."

Dujarric added, "The content in question must be investigated."

"ILLEGAL"

Regarding Israel's approval of the construction of 3,500 new illegal housing units in the occupied West Bank, Dujarric noted that the UN's position on the construction of settlements has not changed, and that settlements are illegal under international law.

Dujarric stated that the settlements also undermine the prospect of a two-state solution.
