University launches 'influencer' degree program
South East Technological University in Ireland has launched an undergraduate program titled 'Content Creation and Social Media.' The department focuses on 'influencer' studies.
South East Technological University (SETU) in Waterford, Ireland, has announced a new opportunity for students dreaming of specializing in the field of social media.
SETU announced that they will be launching an undergraduate program in content creation and social media. According to the announcement, applications for the three-year "influencer" program will begin in November.
According to a report in The Irish Independent, Dr. Eleanor O'Leary, who teaches Media and Communications at SETU, emphasized that the industry is worth "between 14 billion and 16 billion Euros globally."
The announcement also detailed some of the courses and subjects that will be included in the curriculum:
