Clashes continue between the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen and both the Yemeni government and Saudi Arabia. In a statement to the US-based Newsmax, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said, "There is still a ceasefire between the US and the Houthis. That is a good thing. What we know for sure is that there is a conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, but it has not really spread to the region. That is the good news."
US President Donald Trump stated last Saturday that he wants the Houthis not to interfere in the conflict they are having with Yemen's internationally recognized government.
The US and the Iran-backed Houthis agreed to a ceasefire in May 2025 following the cessation of attacks on Israel and ships in the Red Sea.
