US announces $425 million in aid to Ukraine

The statement noted that the latest aid package is the 69th equipment package provided by the Department from its inventories for Ukraine since August 2021 under the Biden Administration, stating, “This Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package, which has an estimated value of $425 million, will provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including air defense interceptors, munitions for rocket systems and artillery, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons.”

It was stated that the aid package includes “munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), Stinger missiles, counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS) equipment and munitions, ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), air-to-ground munitions, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems, Armored Personnel Carriers, small arms and ammunition, medical equipment, demolition equipment and munitions, spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation.”

The statement added, “The United States will continue to work with approximately 50 allies and partners to meet Ukraine’s urgent battlefield needs and defend Ukraine against Russian aggression.”
