US blockade of Hormuz to begin tomorrow at 23:00 TSI
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin tomorrow at 23:00 TSI.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the start time for the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which was previously announced by US President Donald Trump.
CENTCOM announced that, in accordance with President Trump's directive, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin tomorrow at 23:00 TSI, stating, "CENTCOM forces will implement a blockade on vessels traveling to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal regions.
The US military will continue to support the navigation of all vessels in regional waters that do not violate the scope of the blockade," it said.
Recalling that the US previously implemented a naval blockade on Iran between April 13 and June 18, CENTCOM stated that during that two-month period, it directed more than 140 compliant vessels to alternative routes, neutralized 9 non-compliant vessels, and permitted the passage of more than 50 commercial vessels carrying humanitarian aid through the blockade.
CENTCOM advised all mariners operating in the region to monitor Notices to Mariners broadcasts and to maintain contact with the US Navy while operating in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz regions.
