'US can only confirm that 1/3 of Iran's missile stockpiles have been destroyed'

US sources have made a statement regarding Iran's missile stockpiles following the US-Israeli attacks on Iran. According to a report by the UK-based news agency Reuters, five individuals linked to US intelligence sources stated that the US can only confirm that one-third of Iran's missile stockpiles have been destroyed. The unnamed sources noted that the fate of the remaining Iranian missiles is unclear, but that the bombardments caused missiles in underground tunnels and bunkers to explode, sustain damage, or remain buried under debris.

One of the sources also conveyed that intelligence regarding Iran's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capacity is similar, and that there is a certain degree of certainty that one-third of these assets have also been destroyed. At the same time, it was noted that the missiles and UAVs remaining in Iran's possession pose a threat to potential future US operations that could be carried out to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz.

The sources' statements contradict the remarks made by US President Donald Trump during yesterday's cabinet meeting, where he said, "Iran has very few rockets left to launch."

A US Department of Defense (Pentagon) official who made a statement on the matter reported that Iran's missile and UAV attacks have decreased by 90 percent since February 28, when the attacks began. The official added that the attacks by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) have damaged or destroyed 66 percent of Iran's missile, UAV, and naval production facilities and shipyards.

The White House has not yet made a statement on the matter.

In a press conference held yesterday, US President Donald Trump emphasized that Iran's missile stockpiles are nearing exhaustion, stating, "We have crushed them militarily. They have no air force, they have no navy, and they have very few missiles left. We blew up a huge portion of them. They are hard to produce. The same applies to UAVs. They have no leadership. But the problem is this; even if we do a great job and destroy 99 percent, the remaining 1 percent threat is unacceptable. Because that could mean a missile being fired at the hull of a billion-dollar ship. But it will be cleared up very quickly. Because they want a deal."

In the latest statement from CENTCOM, it was noted that more than 10 thousand military targets in Iran had been struck as part of the US "Operation Epic Fury" and that the process was proceeding ahead of the projected schedule. The statement highlighted that 92 percent of the largest ships belonging to the Iranian navy had been destroyed, but no precise figures were given regarding Iran's destroyed missile and UAV capacity.
