US conducts air operation in Syria
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has carried out an air strike against groups close to Iran in Syria.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a post on the X platform that the air strike was conducted against a facility used by the Iranian-affiliated Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and groups close to it.
The statement included the following: "We will take all necessary measures to defend our people against those responsible for the attacks and will respond at a time and place of our choosing."
The statement noted that the air strike was in response to attacks against US citizens in Syria and Iraq, but did not provide information regarding which region of Syria it was conducted in or the outcome of the operation.
