US decides to increase sanctions on Russia: Ceasefire cancelled

After US President Donald Trump received rather unclear statements from Putin, from whom he was expecting announcements regarding the agreement, almost everyone was curious about the developments to come. 

According to information from news outlets such as CBS and Reuters, the US has shown through its actions that the ceasefire has been cancelled.

The US, which has lifted the exemption for Russian banks regarding the energy sector that had been in place since the beginning of the war, announced that blockades on Russia will continue to increase. According to the report on CBS, the Trump administration will also impose restrictions on Russia's oil and gas sectors. Furthermore, the US did not renew the licenses of Russian banks that were conducting energy activities as an exception. 

Within the scope of the sanctions imposed, all exceptions introduced during the Biden era have been banned. It is being commented that these developments mean that the sanctions pressure on the Kremlin will increase significantly.

While the US is taking one sanctions decision after another against Russia, according to a Reuters report, it has resumed the supply of GLSDB long-range bombs to Ukraine. These bombs, which will replace ATACMS, can hit targets at a distance of up to 161 km.
