It is alleged that the Donald Trump administration in the US is working on a new regulation that includes travel bans and restrictions for certain countries. Two officials speaking to the US press stated that the planned ban would be more comprehensive than the travel ban Trump implemented during his first presidential term.
The draft in question has been submitted for evaluation to the US Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security, as well as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, for finalization. It has been learned that in the draft, countries deemed risky by the US in terms of national security will be classified as red, orange, and yellow.
According to a report by The New York Times, while a travel ban to the US will be imposed on citizens of countries in the red category, restrictions will be applied to those in the orange category. It was stated that countries in the yellow category will be given 60 days to address their deficiencies.

It was reported that the red category includes Iran, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela—which were part of Trump's previous ban—and that Afghanistan and Pakistan are expected to be added to this list. Details regarding the countries in the orange and yellow categories have not yet been disclosed.
During his first presidential term, Trump imposed a travel ban on these countries with the stated goal of ''protecting the US from terrorist attacks.'' This policy sparked long-standing controversy. During his November 2024 presidential election campaign, Trump stated that if re-elected, he would implement this ban in a broader and more robust manner.
