US establishes UFO reporting system
Officials stated, "We will soon share classified documents regarding UFOs."
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has developed a new system for military personnel and federal employees to report sightings of "unidentified flying objects" (UFOs).
Sean Kirkpatrick, Director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), stated on Tuesday that active-duty or retired military personnel, federal officials, and government employees can now submit UFO reports.
Under the program, users can upload photos and documents related to UFO sightings directly to the AARO via the online system.
Kirkpatrick noted that individuals with knowledge of US government programs related to UFOs can also share information through the system.
The director of the AARO, which was established in July of last year, said that all shared information and documents will be kept confidential and will only be accessible to authorized personnel.
Kirkpatrick also stated that some classified documents regarding past US programs related to UFOs are being reviewed and will be shared with the public in the near future.
During a hearing held in the US Congress in July, former intelligence officer David Grusch made headlines by claiming that the Washington administration had been concealing information for years regarding UFOs and events referred to as "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UAP).
In the hearing, which also featured two other former intelligence officers alongside Grusch, it was alleged that the US had collected UFO debris and that one of these objects contained "non-human organic biological components." The Pentagon, however, denied these allegations.
