US grants permission for Iranian oil sales

As negotiations between the US and Iran continue in Switzerland, a positive step has been taken by the US toward Iran. US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent announced that they have issued a 60-day temporary general license allowing the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian oil until August 21.

Bessent stated, "Under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Vice President James David Vance, we continue to make the world safer and more prosperous.

In line with the productive talks continuing in Switzerland, Iran has committed to allowing free passage in the Strait of Hormuz and the entry of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors into its country.

As part of this framework, the Department of the Treasury has issued a 60-day temporary general license allowing the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian oil."
