US halts visas for citizens of that country! Asylum applications also suspended

Following US President Donald Trump's declaration that he would "permanently stop immigration from Third World countries," a notable new step has been taken by the Washington administration. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced in a statement on his X account that visas are no longer being issued to individuals holding Afghan passports, sharing the message, "The United States has no greater priority than protecting its country and its people."

DECISION TO HALT ASYLUM APPLICATIONS AS WELL

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Joseph B. Edlow announced that all asylum evaluations have been temporarily suspended to ensure security screenings are conducted at the highest level. While announcing his decision, Edlow stated, "The American people always come first."

TRUMP CRITICIZED BIDEN'S IMMIGRATION STEPS

After it was determined that the suspect in an attack on two National Guardsmen near the White House was of Afghan origin, Trump once again targeted Joe Biden's immigration policies. Sharing a photo showing people brought by plane following the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, Trump remarked, "This was part of that horrific air evacuation from Afghanistan. Hundreds of thousands of people poured into our country completely unchecked and unscreened. We will fix this, but we will never forget what crooked Joe Biden and his gang did to our country!"
