Savett made a statement regarding reports that "Iran is providing ballistic missiles to Russia."

Refraining from commenting on the accuracy of the reports in question, Savett stated, "Any transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia would represent a dramatic escalation in Iran’s support for Russia’s war against Ukraine and would lead to the deaths of more Ukrainian civilians."

"IRAN'S STANCE TOWARD RUSSIA HAS NOT CHANGED"

The Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations (UN) also issued a written statement in response to questions regarding the reports on this situation.

In the statement, which noted that Iran's stance toward Russia has not changed, it was stated, "Iran considers the provision of military assistance to the parties involved in the conflict—which leads to increased human casualties, destruction of infrastructure, and a move away from ceasefire negotiations—to be inhumane."

The statement added, "For this reason, Iran not only refrains from such actions itself but also calls on other countries to stop supplying weapons to the parties involved in the conflict."
