US military conducts airstrikes in Yemen

The US military has once again targeted the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. In a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM), it was reported that airstrikes were conducted against a missile depot and a command center belonging to the Houthis located in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

The statement added, “CENTCOM forces also shot down multiple Houthi one-way attack drones (OWA UAV) and an anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM) over the Red Sea,” noting that “US Air Force assets, including F/A-18 fighter jets, and US Navy assets participated in the operation.”

The statement, which recalled that CENTCOM conducts planned operations to neutralize Houthi attacks such as those targeting US ships in the Southern Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden, stated, “The latest strike reflects CENTCOM's ongoing commitment to protecting US and coalition personnel, regional partners, and international maritime shipping.”
