US President Biden: “Putin is undoubtedly responsible for Navalny's death”

US President Joe Biden made statements regarding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who passed away today in a prison on the Yamal Peninsula in Russia.

Stating that he was outraged but not surprised by the news of Navalny's death, Biden said, “Russian authorities will tell their own story. Putin is undoubtedly responsible for Navalny's death.”

Describing the event as “yet more proof of Putin’s brutality,” Biden noted that Navalny could have lived safely in exile, but instead returned to Russia out of belief in his country and his people, despite knowing he would likely be imprisoned or killed.

"IT WILL BE ANOTHER SIGN OF PUTIN'S BRUTALITY"

US Vice President Kamala Harris, in her speech at the Munich Security Conference, said, “It is, of course, terrible news.

If confirmed, it will be another sign of Putin's brutality. Whatever story they tell, let us be clear: Russia is responsible,” she had stated.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had stated, “Navalny’s death in a Russian prison and the obsession and fear of one man only underscore the weakness and rot at the heart of the system that Putin has built. Russia is responsible for this.”
