US President Joe Biden spoke following his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to the report on NTV, addressing the Israel-Hamas conflict, Biden said, "Hamas has committed war crimes by using hospitals."
Biden stated that he does not know how long the war will last, but that he is hopeful in the medium term regarding the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Noting that Israel risks the killing of its own people in Gaza, Biden said, "The war will continue until Hamas is neutralized."
Stating that Israel must be careful to avoid harming civilians during this process, Biden added, "I told Netanyahu that a two-state solution is the only answer."
Biden also noted that they had previously conveyed to Israeli officials that an occupation of Gaza would be a mistake.
