US President Trump: I think President Erdoğan will view my request positively

When asked about the resignation today of Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host and former fiancée of his son Donald Trump Jr., from her position as US Ambassador to Greece—a role she had held since 2025—due to allegations of inappropriate behavior, Trump said, "She was with my son a long time ago, but she was not a member of my family. She went to Greece. She was doing a good job. But we didn't like what we read."

When asked if he had spoken with the former Ambassador Guilfoyle, Trump replied, "No, I haven't spoken with her. But she won't be there anymore. I didn't like what I read."

"Intelligence sharing with Ukraine has not stopped"

Regarding a question on whether intelligence sharing with Ukraine has ceased, Trump responded, "Intelligence sharing with Ukraine has not stopped. We have helped them, but what we are really doing is helping them reach a final solution. We want the war to end. We are helping them and sharing intelligence. We are working with both them and the Russians to end the war."

"I think they both want the war to end"

When asked "why he thinks Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to end the war more than Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy," Trump said, "Because of my experience in negotiations. What I have done my whole life is make deals. I think Putin wants this too. I think they both want the war to end. Both sides want it, but they don't know how to get to that point. There is tremendous hatred between them. They don't know how to get to that point, but we will get them there."

"An agreement that will ensure diesel is supplied to the world market, because prices are rising in the world market"

When asked about concerns that Russia would use the revenue from a diesel deal for rearmament, Trump replied, "This is not a diesel deal made for us. Diesel will be supplied to the world market. It is not being given to us. It is an agreement that will ensure diesel is supplied to the world market, because prices are rising in the world market. When you take diesel refineries out of commission, not very good things happen."

"The Houthis are behaving very badly"

When asked about a potential attack on the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, Trump said, "The Houthis are behaving very badly." Trump did not answer a question about whether he had made a decision to launch an attack.

When asked if he would request Turkey's participation in a possible operation against the Houthis, Trump replied, "I could do that. President Erdoğan is a very good friend of mine. I have great respect for President Erdoğan. I think he will view my request positively. I have great respect for him."

US President Trump said regarding the possibility of supporting a candidate in the Israeli elections, "We haven't thought about that yet, but I could do something like that."

"We will make a decision regarding Iran"

When asked what the next step would be regarding Iran, Trump stated, "Iran is a failing country. They have no economy. Inflation is 300 percent. They have no money. They cannot pay their soldiers. They cannot pay anyone. We will make a decision regarding Iran."

"They just don't know how to get to that point"

When asked about the targeting of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Trump replied, "Both sides are a bit strange. But we will see. But in the end, everything will work out. You know why? Because it always does."

When asked another question about Russia striking six energy facilities yesterday, Trump stated, "Ukraine also hit many facilities the day before."

In response to a question about whether he believes Russia is not violating the ceasefire, Trump said, "I will give you information on that later. But what is happening is that they are hitting each other. All of this will end. Both of them want it to end. They just don't know how to get to that point."
