US President Trump makes 'Cuba' decision fresh off the plane!

US President Donald Trump signed numerous presidential decrees on his first day in office.

A statement from the White House reported that one of the decrees signed by Trump provides for the cancellation of 78 decrees and executive orders signed during the Biden administration.

The statement noted that Trump canceled the decree signed during the Biden administration and re-added Cuba to the "state sponsors of terrorism" list.

Following this, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel reacted to Trump's decision in a post on his X account.

Canel described this action as "mockery and abuse," stating that it "confirms the disrepute of the US government's lists and unilateral pressure mechanisms."

In a statement issued by the White House on January 14, it was stated according to the official notification sent to Congress that Cuba would be removed from the "state sponsors of terrorism" list. Following that decision, it was announced that some prisoners convicted of various crimes in Cuba had begun to be released gradually.

Former US President Barack Obama had removed Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism on May 29, 2015. The subsequent Trump administration had re-added Cuba to this list in January 2021, during the final week of his term.

In addition to Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria are on the list.
