US President Trump: War with Iran will end very soon

US President Trump answered questions from the press regarding current events following a signing ceremony for an Executive Order in the Oval Office.

Explaining that negotiations with Iran are proceeding well, Trump avoided using definitive terms but signaled that they are close to an agreement.

The US President assessed, "As soon as the war ends, gas prices will drop, and I think it will end very soon. I don't think (Iran) can hold out much longer."

Stating that he is closely following the negotiations and is personally involved, Trump responded to a question about when the agreement would be signed by saying, "I think things are going very well. I am involved in the negotiations. I think we are doing quite well. (The agreement) could happen soon."

Evaluating reports that an agreement with Iran is nearing completion regarding the portion of negotiations concerning the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated that he could not yet say they have reached a full agreement with Tehran on this matter, but that the process is ongoing.

Arguing that the US controls the strait through a blockade, Trump nevertheless noted that Iran could still open fire on ships passing through the strait or that naval mines could strike tankers.

MESSAGE FROM TRUMP TO RUSSIA AND UKRAINE

The US President also evaluated the current situation regarding the Russia-Ukraine War, arguing that the Joe Biden administration provided too many weapons and ammunition to Ukraine at the time.

Explaining that as the US, they have sent a great deal of weapons and ammunition not only to Ukraine but to many countries, Trump stated that they could take some of these back if they needed them.

Trump argued that they are not experiencing any shortages regarding the ammunition they need concerning Iran, noting that they are supplying and replenishing these stocks on a daily basis.
