US revokes visas of at least 300 foreign students
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the visas of at least 300 foreign students have been revoked, stating that they "supported Hamas."
Rubio made the remarks regarding the ongoing student visa revocations during a press conference held during his visit to Guyana.
Responding to a question about Turkish student Rümeysa Öztürk, who is pursuing a doctorate at Tufts University in Massachusetts, Secretary Rubio stated that the administration is very clear on this matter.
The US Secretary stated that the visas of more than 300 foreign students, whom he described as "Hamas supporters" and (anti-Israel) "lunatics," have been revoked.
Rubio said, "We are doing this every day. Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take their visa away, 300 and perhaps even more. We are looking for these lunatics who are smashing things up every day."
US Secretary of State Rubio had previously announced that the student visa of Öztürk, the Turkish student pursuing a doctorate at Tufts University, had been revoked and that she would be deported.
