US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Washington D.C. to discuss cooperation in the critical minerals and mining sectors.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Washington D.C.
In a statement regarding the meeting, the US Department of State said, "Secretary Rubio thanked Pakistan for its willingness to continue playing a constructive role in discussions with Iran and for its commitment to maintaining regional stability."
The statement, which noted that the two ministers discussed counter-terrorism, added, "The two sides also discussed prospects for deepening bilateral counter-terrorism cooperation and the US-Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue to be held in Islamabad this August.
Secretary Rubio emphasized the importance of expanding mutually beneficial bilateral trade and exploring possibilities for increasing cooperation in the critical minerals and mining sectors," the statement said.
