US Secretary of State Rubio: There is more work ahead, but we are optimistic
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed the Gaza ceasefire agreement, stating, "There is more work ahead, but we are optimistic about it."
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has begun his official meetings in Israel. Rubio met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Following the meeting, Rubio and Netanyahu held a joint press conference. Netanyahu stated, "We want to advance peace. We still have security challenges, but by working together, we can both solve the problems and seize the opportunities."
Addressing the Gaza ceasefire agreement signed earlier this month, Rubio said, "There is more work ahead, but we are very positive about it. We are making good progress. No one is kidding themselves. We have achieved the impossible once, and we intend to maintain it."
Rubio noted that US President Donald Trump has made the Gaza ceasefire his "top priority," citing the consecutive visits to the region by high-level US officials, including Vice President James David Vance, as evidence. Rubio added, "This is a very important achievement, but there is more work to be done and greater successes to be reached. Despite significant obstacles, I am confident that we will reach our goal."
