US Secretary of State Rubio to hold talks in Israel regarding Iran

As the military and political crisis between the US and Iran continues, the US Department of State announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will pay an official visit to Israel on Monday, March 2.

It was reported that issues concerning Iran will be on the agenda during Secretary Rubio's talks, which are expected to last two days. Regarding the planned visit, US Department of State Spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated, "Secretary Rubio will hold discussions on priority topics in the region, including Iran, Lebanon, and ongoing efforts toward the implementation of US President Donald Trump's 20-Point Gaza Peace Plan."

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Dylan Johnson, in a social media post regarding Rubio's visit, addressed the State Department's authorization for non-essential personnel and their families at the US Embassy in Israel to leave the country. Responding to a question about the expected visit, Johnson stated that Rubio's visit would proceed despite the authorization for the evacuation of embassy personnel.

Huckabee: "If you want to leave Israel, do it today"

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said in an email sent to embassy staff today, "If you want to leave Israel, do it today. Focus on finding a ticket to anywhere you can continue on to Washington DC, but the first priority is to leave the country quickly. There is no need to panic, but it is important for those who wish to leave to make their departure plans as soon as possible."
