In a brief statement issued by CENTCOM, it was stated, "US forces are taking bold steps to eliminate imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime. The strikes are ongoing."
BALLISTIC MISSILE CAPACITY ALSO TARGETED
Earlier in the day, CENTCOM had also released footage of strikes conducted against Iran's ballistic missile capacity. The statement argued that the Iranian regime has recklessly used and proliferated ballistic missiles for many years, which poses a threat to the US and its allies.
In the same statement, the phrase "Now, at the direction of US President Donald Trump, US forces are eliminating this threat" was used.
