US shares footage of Iranian warship being struck by torpedo
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has released footage showing the moment an Iranian warship was struck by a torpedo.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held a press conference regarding the joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran. In his statement, Hegseth noted that an Iranian warship was sunk off the coast of Sri Lanka as a result of a torpedo attack. Regarding the strike, the Secretary said, "The Iranian ship thought it was safe in the Indian Ocean. However, on the contrary, it was sunk by a torpedo."

While Hegseth did not provide details regarding the sunken vessel, shortly after the statement, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) released footage of the attack on the Iranian warship.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan authorities had announced earlier today that a submarine attack was carried out against the Iranian warship "IRIS Dena" off the country's coast. It was reported that 32 sailors were rescued in the incident. Sri Lankan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arun Hemachandra stated in comments to local media during ongoing search and rescue operations that at least 80 sailors had lost their lives.
