The US continues its fight against international drug trafficking in South America.
US President Donald Trump stated that the US military struck another boat off the coast of Venezuela as part of the fight against drug traffickers, saying, "The Secretary of Defense ordered a lethal strike on a boat belonging to a group identified as a terrorist organization that was trafficking drugs off the coast of Venezuela."
Stating that intelligence sources confirmed the boat was engaged in drug trafficking, was linked to terrorist groups involved in the illegal drug trade, and was traveling on a route known to be used by drug traffickers, Trump said, "The strike was carried out in international waters, and the 6 men on board were killed in the attack. US forces suffered no harm."
