US Vice President Vance: Ceasefire continues
US Vice President James David Vance, in a statement following Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, said, "The ceasefire continues. This does not mean there won't be small skirmishes."
US Vice President James David Vance made a statement following the airstrikes Israel conducted on the Gaza Strip, where a ceasefire is in effect.
While Israel's attacks continue, Vance stated in his remarks that the ceasefire in Gaza is ongoing and that the general framework of the agreement remains valid.
Vance said, "The ceasefire continues. This does not mean there won't be small skirmishes. We know that Hamas or someone else in Gaza attacked Israeli army soldiers. We expect the Israelis to respond, but I think President Trump’s peace will continue despite this."
Hamas had announced that it was not involved in the attack on the Israeli army in Rafah, which Israel cited as a justification for the strikes, and stated that it remained committed to the ceasefire.
The US press, citing two unnamed US officials, reported that Israel had notified the US before its latest attacks on Gaza.
