US Vice President Vance: I think we are making progress

US Vice President James David Vance made statements regarding the indirect talks continuing between the US and Iran, mediated by Pakistan.

Vance stated that the US chief negotiators, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, are "making progress" in the talks with Iran.

Vance said, "I spent a good amount of time on the phone this morning with both Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and I also spoke with some of our friends in the Arab world. I think we are making progress. The fundamental question is: Are we able to make enough progress to meet the President's red line?" .

Vance emphasized that the Trump administration is focused on ensuring that Iran never possesses nuclear weapons and has set this as the fundamental criterion for any agreement.

Stating that the red line for the Trump administration is extremely simple, Vance said, "The President must be sure that we have taken the measures to ensure that Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon."
