US Vice President Vance: We are not seeking an endless war

Blaming Iran for high oil prices in the US and international markets, Vance said that the Iranian military must stop firing on oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

"There are many things we are doing, specifically trying to pressure the Iranians to stop firing on commercial vessels," Vance said, arguing that despite this, there is no global energy crisis because the US has kept the Strait of Hormuz open to oil tankers.

Vance commented, "Frankly, we are protecting the ships passing through here, and that is why we have not experienced a worldwide energy crisis. If it were not for President (Donald) Trump's leadership and the hard work of our soldiers, we would have been facing an energy crisis because the Iranians refuse to stop acting like terrorists in the Strait of Hormuz."

The US Vice President noted that they are not currently in negotiations with Iran, stating, "I will not explain exactly how we will establish a relationship with the Iranians in the coming period, because that would narrow the President's decision-making space. However, all possible options are on the table: economic pressure, military pressure, diplomatic pressure, covert pressure."

Stating that they will not publicly disclose their plans regarding Iran, Vance emphasized that Trump is keeping all options available.

He objected to the definition of "endless war"

On the other hand, JD Vance, responding to a question, stated that they have no intention of an "endless war" with Iran and that they have completed the active offensive process.

Arguing that the US's recent attacks on Iran were not "large-scale," Vance assessed, "I want to object to the term 'endless war' because there are no large-scale combat operations being conducted right now, and they have not been conducted for a very long time. In fact, what we did just a few days ago was to make it more difficult for the Iranians to strike a commercial vessel again, in order to ensure the flow of oil and gas to global energy markets."

Noting that they are aware that their efforts to keep the Strait of Hormuz open without active negotiations with Iran create a cost, Vance expressed that other alternatives also carry high costs.
