Vatican announces: Critical development regarding the Pope's health

Furthermore, it was reported that Pope Francis performed the Eucharist mass on Saturday morning and prayed in the chapel of his private suite. In the afternoon, it was stated that he rested and continued his work.

According to a report by NBC News, Francis was admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14 due to a serious respiratory infection and was treated for bilateral pneumonia. The health condition of the 88-year-old leader of the Roman Catholic Church had been stable since at least Wednesday. The Vatican also announced that the Pope has not experienced any respiratory distress in recent days.

Speaking for the first time on Wednesday after being hospitalized, Francis said the following in a statement made in Spanish:
