While no details were provided regarding the scope or cause of the explosion that occurred on the road leading to the cemetery in Kerman where Soleimani's grave is located, footage broadcast shows those attending the memorial event fleeing and ambulances heading to the scene.
Iranian state television announced that 53 people died and 170 people were injured in the incident.
