Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that while claims persisted that Qaani was among the generals who lost their lives in the Israeli attack, he was spotted in the capital, Tehran, for the first time in 12 days. The report shared images showing Qaani attending the "victory celebrations" held at Revolution Square in Tehran following the ceasefire with Israel.

In the footage, Qaani was seen arriving at the square with his bodyguards and chatting with citizens in the area.

IRNA shared the images with the note, "First images of General Qaani following 12 days of Israeli aggression."

The American newspaper The New York Times had claimed in a report on June 13, citing "unnamed Iranian sources," that Quds Force Commander Major General Qaani had been killed in Israel's attacks in Iran.

Following the news of a ceasefire after nearly two weeks of mutual attacks between Iran and Israel, crowds gathered at Revolution Square in the capital, Tehran, to hold a victory celebration.
