Israeli army begins striking Beirut's Dahiyeh district: Immediately following 'evacuate' warning

The Israeli army announced that it has declared three settlements on the Lebanese border a "closed military zone" and that entry to these areas is prohibited.

In a statement from the Israeli army spokesperson's office, the settlements of Metula, and the surrounding Misgav Am and Kfar Giladi at the zero point of the Lebanese border line were declared a "closed military zone." It was announced that entry to these areas is prohibited.

STRIKES BEGIN

Israeli warplanes began bombing the Dahiyeh district of Beirut shortly after issuing a call to evacuate certain locations in the area.

According to information provided by an AA correspondent in the region, the airstrikes began shortly after Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee made an "evacuate" announcement on the X social media platform.

The airstrikes by Israeli warplanes targeted the Al-Laylaki, Haret Hreik, and Burj al-Barajneh neighborhoods in the Dahiyeh district, which is considered a stronghold of Hezbollah in the south of the capital, Beirut.

The scale of the attack is clearly visible in the first images coming from Dahiyeh in southern Beirut, which Israel struck from the air.

ISRAELI ARMY BEGINS GROUND INVASION ATTACKS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON

The Israeli army announced that it is conducting ground invasion attacks on certain points within Lebanese territory.

Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated in a written statement that the Israeli army has begun limited and intensive ground attacks targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

The statement, which noted that the ground attacks are being supported by air forces and artillery units, expressed that "Operation Northern Arrows" will continue in parallel with the conflicts in Gaza and according to the situation assessment conducted.

MILITARY VEHICLE SOUNDS HEARD

In southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army has begun bombing with artillery fire, the sounds of military vehicles moving toward the Abel el-Kamh town, opposite the Al-Wazzani border region, were heard.

Eyewitnesses emphasized that they heard the roar of numerous military vehicles and noted that Israeli artillery was also striking the Al-Wazzani border region with artillery fire.

However, there has been no official statement from the Israeli side yet.

LEBANESE ARMY WITHDRAWS FROM SOME POSITIONS

It was reported that the Lebanese army has abandoned its positions at points close to the Israeli border and withdrawn 5 kilometers back from the border.

HEZBOLLAH: IRAN IS BY OUR SIDE

Meanwhile, Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah stated in an interview with a local broadcaster that the organization did not ask for help from Iran, saying, "Because they are by our side."

"THE US WAS INFORMED"

Israel told the US that it is planning a limited ground operation in Lebanon that could begin at any moment.

According to a report by the Washington Post citing an unnamed US official, the potential ground operation would be smaller in scale than Israel's 2006 war against Hezbollah and would focus on the security of settlements near the border.
