Tensions escalate in Serbian Parliament: Smoke bomb and brawl!
Tensions rose in the Serbian National Assembly during a session discussing the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic. A fight broke out between opposition and ruling party deputies, and a smoke bomb was thrown into the chamber. One deputy was seriously injured.
A major confrontation occurred in the Serbian National Assembly during a session addressing the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and the higher education law. During the session presided over by Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, opposition Green-Left Front deputy Radomir Lazovic headed toward the podium after the agenda was approved but was blocked by parliamentary security.
Following this intervention, a scuffle broke out between opposition and ruling party deputies. Opposition deputies lit flares and threw a smoke bomb into the hall. Some of the deputies fighting in the chamber, which was filled with red, black, and white smoke, were injured.
ONE DEPUTY IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Parliament Speaker Brnabic announced that a deputy who was struck in the head by a smoke bomb during the incident suffered a brain hemorrhage and is in critical condition. It was reported that another deputy was also injured and two deputies have resigned.
