Viktor Orban: The war in Ukraine cannot be won. We do not want our children to die

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in his speech at the European Conservatives rally held in France, stated that the war in Ukraine is unsustainable. Orban said, "Pro-war politicians are trying to convince us to continue this conflict, but it is not possible to win this war."

Emphasizing diplomacy, Orban said, "Control should not be in the hands of generals, but diplomats. Peace can only be achieved at the table." The Hungarian leader reminded that his country shares a border with Ukraine and warned against the growing climate of conflict in Europe.

"WE DO NOT WANT A NEW AFGHANISTAN"

Stating that the Hungarian people do not want to fight for Ukraine, Orban said, "We do not want our sons to return in coffins. We do not want a new Afghanistan on our border."

Criticizing the European Union for spending billions of Euros on armaments, Orban said, "The EU is trying to build a war economy by using this conflict as an excuse. We do not support this policy." Furthermore, expressing his discomfort with the EU weakening the economic independence of member states by taking on massive debts, Orban stated, "We reject moves to federalize the money of member states."
