Vladimir Putin outlines conditions for 'peace'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined his conditions for peace ahead of the Peace Conference to be held in Switzerland. Stating that he "does not want a ceasefire, but a permanent end to the war," Putin conditioned peace on Ukraine's withdrawal from the four regions Russia has seized.

Meeting with Foreign Ministry officials, Putin said, "We were not invited to the conference in Switzerland. It is impossible to find a solution regarding Ukraine and European security without Russia."

Stating that they are ready to end the war if Ukraine withdraws from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, Putin emphasized that they would guarantee the safety of the withdrawing Ukrainian soldiers.

"Kyiv must abandon its NATO goal," Putin said, adding, "If the West and Ukraine reject our peace proposal, the situation on the front will not be in Ukraine's favor, and our subsequent proposals will be different."

Russia was not invited to the Ukraine Peace Conference, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16 with the participation of 90 countries and organizations.
