"We are ready to resolve the issue with Hezbollah through diplomatic means"
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant informed Amos Hochstein, a senior advisor to US President Joe Biden, that Tel Aviv is prepared to resolve the issue with Hezbollah through diplomatic agreements.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Defense, Gallant met with Hochstein in Tel Aviv.
During the meeting, the security issue on the Lebanese border and ways to return displaced Israelis to their homes were discussed.
Addressing Hochstein, Gallant stated, "We are ready to resolve the issue with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon through diplomatic means. But we are also prepared for another scenario."
The Israeli Defense Minister noted that his country is determined to improve security on the Lebanese border and eliminate the threat of attacks originating from there.
The Israeli army and the Hezbollah Movement have been engaged in border clashes since October 8, 2023.
