According to unofficial data published by The Associated Press (AP), results have been determined in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, and Alabama.
Trump, who won the states of West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, and Alabama, has reached 95 delegates in 9 of the 50 states.
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, on the other hand, has secured 35 delegates in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
In the US presidential election, voters primarily cast their ballots for the delegates of the party they support.
In this system, called the 'Electoral College,' a total of 538 delegates, distributed with different weights to each state, are determined.
The candidate who reaches one more than half of this number, which is 270 delegates, earns the right to become president.
