White House statement on 'aid to Ukraine': 'We will no longer have funds'

White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby made statements to journalists at an online meeting.

Stating that they will announce a new aid package for Ukraine before the end of the year, Kirby used the expression, "Once that is done, we will no longer have the funds to support Ukraine."

Kirby also called on Congress to approve aid to Ukraine, saying, "Ukraine still needs our help. It is high time for Congress to stand up for freedom and democracy and take action for our own national security interests."

CRISIS OVER AID TO UKRAINE IN CONGRESS

While fierce debates continue in the US Congress regarding aid to Ukraine, Republicans in the Senate blocked the vote on US President Joe Biden's 105 billion dollar budget request, which includes aid to Israel and Ukraine, on December 6.

Biden had requested a 105 billion dollar budget that includes 14 billion dollars for Israel and 61 billion dollars for Ukraine.

However, Republicans in the US Congress, led by those in the Senate, oppose approving this budget unless the regulations they demand, primarily regarding changes to immigration policy, are made.

The White House and some Ukrainian officials warn that the war with Russia could be lost without US aid to Ukraine.
