White House statement on Ukraine: 'We have restarted'

National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson James Hewitt stated to an AA reporter that they have resumed military aid to Ukraine following significant progress made during US-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia.

Intelligence support and military shipments had been suspended following the discussions between President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on February 28.

During that meeting, Trump argued that Zelenskyy had "disrespected the American people," while Zelenskyy stated that he had done nothing wrong for which to apologize.

Speaking in Congress on Tuesday evening, Trump stated that Zelenskyy had sent him a letter expressing that Ukraine was ready to sign a rare earth elements agreement and engage in peace talks.

On the other hand, CIA Director John Ratcliffe had confirmed that they had temporarily halted intelligence support and military shipments to the country following the Oval Office dispute between Trump and Zelenskyy, but emphasized that this was temporary.

Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff had announced that Zelenskyy apologized in the aforementioned letter.
