Will Israel attack Iran's nuclear facilities? US official unable to deny
According to reports in the US press, a senior American official believes Israel may target nuclear facilities in Iran. According to the official, the US will fail to prevent Israel from responding to Iran with 'excessive force'.
The US believes that Israel could strike Iranian nuclear facilities. The US press, citing high-level sources, reported that the US has been unable to dissuade Israel from attacking nuclear sites.
According to a report by CNN, a senior official from the US Department of State, who was not named, was asked whether Israel had provided assurances to the US that it would not attack Iran's nuclear facilities.
The official replied to this question by saying, 'We hope and expect to see some wisdom as well as strength, but as you know, there are no guarantees.'
Meanwhile, former US National Security Advisor John Bolton criticized US President Biden's statement in an interview with CNN, in which he said, 'If I were in their (Israel's) shoes, I would be thinking about alternatives to oil fields.'
Noting that Iran is an 'enemy of the US' and Israel is an 'ally', Bolton said, 'I think the President is making a huge mistake by talking about Israel's options.'
When asked 'What should Israel do?', Bolton replied, 'Israel should eliminate Iran's nuclear weapons program, and the US should help Israel. Now is the time to do it.'

IRAN'S BALLISTIC MISSILE ATTACK
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported on October 1 that a missile attack had been carried out against Israel, which it said targeted Iran's 'national security'. It was stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for Israeli strikes that killed Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Iranian Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan.
Iranian state television announced that approximately 200 missiles were fired at Israel and that hypersonic Fattah-1 missiles were used for the first time.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also stated that Iran had 'made a big mistake' with the missile attack 'and will pay for it'.
