World's oldest man dies at 114
Juan Vicente Perez Mora, the world's oldest man, has died in Venezuela at the age of 114.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced in a post on the social media platform X that Juan Vicente Perez had passed away in the state of Tachira.
Born in May 1909, Perez had 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Guinness World Records had declared Perez the world's oldest man in 2022.
'HE STARTED WORKING AT AGE 5'
In a 2022 statement, Guinness described Perez with the words, "At the age of five, he began working in the fields with his father and brothers, helping with the sugarcane and coffee harvest."
Perez, who made his living through farming, had also served as a sheriff.
