Yandex launches 'Yazeka', developed for the Turkish market: 'A new era of search'

The system, which draws attention with its user-centric approach, aims to provide fast and clear answers to complex queries. By supporting all information sources on the internet with citations, the service aims to provide the most accurate answers and is expected to change users' search habits.

Developed exclusively for the Turkish market, this new search system has been launched in Turkish on Android and desktop platforms. It was reported that the iOS version will also be available soon.

Yandex Search with Yazeka transforms the traditional search engine structure by offering summary answers compiled from numerous sources. This system aims to save users time on complex queries that cannot be found in a single source. By using reliable citations in the answers, users are enabled to access more detailed information.

Supported by natural language processing technology, the service allows users to write their queries in a natural way. The artificial intelligence analyzes the queries to provide clearer and more accurate search results. Users can access detailed information by asking questions such as, for example, "a one-day travel itinerary in Amsterdam."

Furthermore, users can initiate a "dialogue" with the search engine when they want to request additional information or deepen the context. Yandex Search automatically displays AI responses in some cases, but users can manually activate this mode via a tab in the search bar.

Yandex Search with Yazeka operates on an AI infrastructure based on Yandex's neural networks. These neural networks, trained specifically for Turkish and English language tasks, can provide local results suitable for the Turkish context. In this scope, data sets collected by AI experts in Turkey are used to increase contextual accuracy and relevance.

Yandex's new search service also brings together various functions such as weather forecasts, financial information, and voice search under a single roof.

"WE ARE ENTERING A NEW ERA OF SEARCH"

Alexander Popovskiy, General Manager of Yandex Search Turkey, stated during the launch event for Yazeka that search engines have moved beyond being mere tools for gathering information.

Popovskiy remarked, "We are stepping into a new era of search. Search engines are evolving into discovery engines that provide answers to complex questions by taking local context and culture into account."

Emphasizing that the Yandex Search with Yazeka service accelerates access to information and decision-making processes, Popovskiy said, "The era where users had to search through pages of blue links is over. Now, with AI-powered Yazeka technology, Yandex quickly analyzes and summarizes questions. It speeds up the decision-making process by offering users concise and comprehensive results."

Noting that Yazeka transforms the search engine from a traditional "search engine" into a "discovery engine," Popovskiy continued:

"Now, when you type 'güllaç recipe,' Yandex doesn't just give you the recipe; it also shows you nearby restaurants, along with photos and videos of these places. This symbolizes Yandex's transformation from a search engine into a comprehensive service ecosystem that generates solutions."

"TURKEY IS THE HUB FOR REGIONAL OPERATIONS"

Bekir Polat, Vice President of the Investment Office of the Presidency, also drew attention to Turkey's economic growth and investment climate in recent years, expressing his satisfaction with Yandex's entry into the Turkish market.

Pointing out that Turkey is an important hub for investors, Polat stated, "Turkey has become one of the world's fastest-growing economies, recording an average growth of 5.4 percent over the last 20 years. Furthermore, with its strategic location at the intersection of Asia, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, Turkey offers a market that provides access to 1.3 billion people. That is why many international firms have recently chosen Turkey not only for the Turkish market but also as a regional base."

Stating that the Investment Office works to support companies operating in Turkey, Polat said, "We are ready to provide all the support we can for Yandex to grow in Turkey as well."
