The Syrian army noted that it had neutralized an attack carried out by the terrorist organization YPG/PKK in the city center of Aleppo. It was learned that the attack took place in the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

It was announced that the terrorist organization YPG/PKK launched an action against the Syrian army in Aleppo, taking advantage of the events in Tartus and Latakia. It was stated that forces affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government responded to the attack and prevented the terrorist act.

According to the report by the official Syrian news agency SANA, Syrian Ministry of Defense Spokesperson Colonel Hasan Abdülgani said, ''The attack carried out by the YPG/PKK in Aleppo's Ashrafieh neighborhood was repelled. The organization was made to suffer losses.''

The Damascus administration stated that elements of the ousted regime carried out an attack with hand grenades in the Mezze 86 and Mezze Jabal regions. Authorities announced that a clash broke out between security forces and the attackers following the attack. It was reported that light weapons were used in the clash.
