Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has claimed that professional military personnel from NATO countries are effectively participating in combat operations within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In her assessment for the documentary titled “Mercenaries: Disappointment,” published by the Vesti News Agency, Zakharova argued that the personnel in question are not merely providing advisory or training support.
Professional military personnel, referred to as so-called ‘experts’ from NATO, are also fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These are outright thugs; military advisors, instructors, and technical experts. However, they are certainly not just providing advisory support; they are directly and effectively fighting.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously stated that the Kyiv administration uses foreign mercenaries as “cannon fodder” and announced that Russian soldiers would continue to target these individuals throughout all Ukrainian territory.
Zakharova also alleged that the Kyiv administration deceives foreigners while persuading them to join Ukrainian units. According to Zakharova, foreign fighters are not informed about where they will be sent, and these individuals are recruited via social media and messaging applications.
The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson argued that Kyiv is “dragging foreigners into a massacre by deceiving them,” stating that the Ukrainian administration does not even keep the promises it makes to its own citizens, and therefore, it cannot be expected to treat individuals coming from Africa, Asia, and Latin America with any greater care.
