Zelenskyy calls on Putin to 'extend the ceasefire'
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy evaluated Russia's Easter ceasefire. "If a full ceasefire is achieved, we propose extending the duration," he said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia is prepared to participate in an unconditional ceasefire format in the war, Ukraine will act in the same manner.
In a written statement on his Telegram account, Zelenskyy argued that Russia has not accepted the 30-day ceasefire proposed by the US side in March for 39 days.
Commenting on the 'temporary ceasefire in Ukraine due to Easter' announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelenskyy continued: "If Russia is suddenly truly ready to participate in a full and unconditional ceasefire format, Ukraine will act in the same way as the Russian side. If a full ceasefire truly prevails, Ukraine proposes that this ceasefire be extended beyond April 20, when Easter ends. This will reveal Russia's true intentions, because 30 hours is enough to make headlines but not enough to take real confidence-building measures. 30 days could give peace a chance."
