Zelenskyy denies claims that Ukrainian troops are surrounded: What is the latest situation on the Kursk front?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made statements regarding the clashes in Russia's Kursk region. In a post on social media, Zelenskyy stated that he had received the latest developments on the front line from Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and reported that 'operations in the Kursk region are continuing.' Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian units are fulfilling their duties in full.

Zelenskyy stated that with the deployment of Ukrainian units to Kursk, Russian forces have been forced to withdraw from other fronts. Emphasizing that the Ukrainian army has repelled Russian and North Korean troops from the region, the Ukrainian leader stated that 'there is no question of the units being surrounded.' Claiming that Russia is prolonging the war and ignoring diplomacy, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to provide accurate information about developments on the front to its allies.

The Ukrainian leader stated that the Russian army is gathering strength on Ukraine's eastern border and is preparing for an attack on the Sumy region, adding the following:

''We are aware of this situation and we will resist it. I want our international partners to understand what Russia is planning.''

While announcing that the Ukrainian-made 'Neptune' missile has been tested and successfully used in the war, Zelenskyy said, 'This missile, which has a range of one thousand kilometers, carries out precision strikes. I thank our manufacturers and military personnel.'

US CEASEFIRE PROPOSAL

The Ukrainian President evaluated the US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire in the sky, at sea, and on the front. Stating that the Ukrainian delegation displayed a constructive attitude at the meeting in Saudi Arabia, Zelenskyy noted that contacts with the US are continuing and that they are continuing their efforts to strengthen diplomacy and bring peace closer.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia should put an end to its manipulations that prolong the war, adding the following:

''I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine and our peace efforts. If we accept this proposal, we can quickly achieve guaranteed security and peace.''

US President Donald Trump demanded in a statement on social media that Russian President Vladimir Putin spare the lives of Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk. Responding to Trump's call at a Security Council meeting, Putin said, 'The Ukrainian leadership should order its soldiers to surrender.'
