Zelenskyy: Preparations underway to send another 10,000 North Korean troops to Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has alleged that Russia is preparing to increase its use of foreign troops in the war. In a video message posted on his social media account, Zelenskyy stated that he had received a new report from Ukraine's Defense Intelligence regarding Russia's plans.

Zelenskyy claimed that there are already more than 8,000 North Korean soldiers on Russian territory and that preparations are underway to deploy 10,000 more. The Ukrainian leader stated that these soldiers have been selected to undergo training before being sent to Russia.

ZELENSKYY: FOREIGN RECRUITMENT IS INCREASING

Asserting that Russia is taking additional mobilization steps, Zelenskyy stated that Moscow is increasing the number of people it recruits through various means and plans to expand the involvement of foreigners in the war. Zelenskyy also said they would inform the relevant governments on this matter.

He expressed that the Lindsey Graham bill currently on the agenda in the US, European Union sanctions, and other international steps could be effective in this process.

According to Ukrainian and South Korean data, North Korea has sent approximately 14,000 to 15,000 soldiers to support Russia's war in Ukraine since 2024. It is assessed that a significant portion of these soldiers have been deployed in the Kursk region to repel a potential Ukrainian offensive.
