Zelenskyy requests Turkey to act as a peace observer in the Black Sea

Following talks held in Saudi Arabia with US mediation, Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement to halt military hostilities in the Black Sea. In a press conference, Zelenskyy announced that the agreement had gone into effect immediately. Zelenskyy, who wants Turkey to act as an observer to ensure Russia complies with the agreement reached in the Black Sea, stated that negotiations on this matter have not yet begun.

Noting that Turkey could act as an observer to monitor the ceasefire in the Black Sea, Zelenskyy stated that Middle Eastern countries could be involved in tracking violations concerning energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy emphasized that official talks on this subject have not yet commenced.

'I DO NOT TRUST RUSSIA'

Stating that they have provided US officials with a list of facilities that need protection to stop attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Zelenskyy noted that a clause regarding agricultural and fertilizer exports was not added to the agreement, stating, 'This situation could reduce the impact of sanctions.'

Zelenskyy pointed out Russia's tendency to violate previous agreements. He said they would request that US President Donald Trump provide military support and impose sanctions if Moscow breaks its commitments. Zelenskyy said, 'I do not trust that Russia will comply with these regulations.'

Touching upon the draft agreement on precious minerals presented by the US, the Ukrainian leader announced that they had not examined the text in detail, but that a proposal for nuclear energy cooperation was not included in the draft.
